My Honest Review of the SwissGear 7739 Hardside Luggage Spinner 2-Piece Set After a Year of Use

The Suitcase I Bought on Amazon That Made Travel So Much Easier (After a Year of Use)

I didn’t think a suitcase would make much of a difference when I bought this one. For me, luggage was just… luggage. As long as it held my things, I didn’t give it much thought.

But after using this particular set on multiple trips over the past year, I’ve realized how much easier travel can feel when you actually have something reliable.

The one I’ve been using is the SwissGear 7739 Hardside Luggage Spinner 2-Piece Set in blush, and it’s honestly been one of those purchases that quietly made a bigger difference than I expected. In fact, I just used it recently on a three day trip to New York in May 2026. I took the smaller suitcase, and even have a bag that is beige that is also a SwissGear bag, an overnight tote bag. In the pictures below, you will see my daughter’s SwissGear bag in pink which is on top of my suitcase while I have my beige bag on my shoulder. The bag conveniently straps well onto the suitcase handle.

Why I Chose It

I wanted something that looked nice (I’ll admit, the blush color caught my eye right away), but also something practical—easy to roll, not too heavy, and sturdy enough to handle being tossed around at airports.

This set came with two sizes, which made it feel a bit more versatile depending on the trip.

What I Noticed After Actually Using It

1. The wheels make a huge difference
This is probably the biggest thing. The spinner wheels glide really smoothly, and I didn’t realize how much that mattered until I was walking through airports without having to drag or tilt the suitcase.

It just rolls beside you effortlessly, which sounds small—but when you’re rushing or tired, it’s not.

2. It feels sturdy without being heavy
I’ve had luggage in the past that either felt flimsy or way too heavy before I even packed it. This one feels like a good balance. It’s held up well over multiple trips, including being checked in.

3. The size options are actually useful
The smaller one works well for shorter trips or carry-on situations, and the larger one is great when you need more space. I like having both instead of trying to make one suitcase work for everything.

4. It’s easy to spot
This might sound minor, but the blush color makes it stand out on the luggage carousel. No second-guessing whether it’s yours.

Anything I Didn’t Love?

To be fair, like most hard-shell luggage, it can get a few scuffs over time—especially if you check it in. Nothing major, just something to expect.

Would I Buy It Again?

Yes, I would. I love the way it looks, it’s just so beautiful.

It’s one of those purchases where you don’t fully appreciate it until you’ve used it a few times—and then you realize it’s made your travel smoother without you even thinking about it.

If You’re Considering It

If you’re someone who travels even occasionally and wants something reliable without overthinking it, this might be worth a look. I can’t get the image to show up of the suitcase combo I have in the same area as the “Buy on Amazon” button, so I had to paste the Amazon image right below, for some reason it has “Get Book” and “Read Sample” under it. Please ignore that and click on the “Buy on Amazon button” right below it or simply use this link: https://amzn.to/4e6lCpy. Also, if you are interested in the SwissGear overnight tote bag in either beige or pink, below the combo image is another style of a SwissGear suitcase that I don’t own but the SwissGear overnight tote bag is shown.
